Experience
Client survey representative (Nav QC) for most types of seismic
surveys, several geodetic control projects, and an offshore construction
project. Trained surveyors in Peru in theory and practical procedures
for offshore site surveys and rig positioning. Guest lecturer
at various seminars, and published a umber of papers. International
marketing manager for a Canadian geomatics firms.
For offshore seismic surveys, acted as Nav QC for deep water
1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 streamer, multi-source single boat 3-D, two boat
3-D, and ocean bottom cable 3-D surveys. Nav QC for deep water
2D, reconnaissance, and shallow water seismic 2-D surveys. Navigation
data analyst, both onshore and offshore. For offshore construction,
acted as Nav QC for a multiple pipe-lay project, both on the barge
and the ROV survey vessel, and during the associated rectification
works.
As an offshore surveyor, carried out the following offshore construction
surveys: route, pre-lay, pipe-lay, as-laid, as-trenched, as-filled,
and as-built pipeline surveys; jacket installations and platform
control; structural and pipeline inspection surveys using ROVs;
pre and post-dredge surveys; anchor handling and anchor placement.
Carried out site and engineering surveys using the following
techniques: bathymetry, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler,
coring and bottom sampling, ROV inspection, and oceanography.
Positioned semi-submersible, jack-up and drillship rigs including
tow-in and location, anchor and cam inspections. Carried out wreck
location surveys using the following techniques: echo-sounder,
side scan sonar, and magnetometer. Caried out extensive hydrographic
reconnaissance surveys of the Fly River, P.N.G., and the White
Nile, Sudan totaling over 1500 km of rivers surveyed. Started
up a hydrographic survey of the inland lakes on Manitoulin Island,
Ontario. Carried out urban and rural land surveys.
Operational user of DGPS, Syledis, Argo, Artemis, Hyper-Fix,
Trisponder, and Miniranger.
Computer literate with Word 7.0 and WordPerfect 5.1; Excel 5.0
and Lotus 123; QPS DGPS version 2.4 and QPS Post-Processing version
5.0.
